Starting the Adventure

On January 4th, I arrived at JFK to fly to London. Looking back on it now I would have no idea what I was getting myself into, in the best way possible.
Prior to this seminar, I thought I did my part in being "green." I recycled, used reusable straws, and used a reusable water bottle. I followed the Syracuse University "going green" initiatives and considered myself an environmentally conscious person. Typing this I almost laugh.
Being sustainable and "green" is so much more than a reusable water bottle. In a few words it's about learning, keeping an open mind, and becoming a problem solver.
By the first day on the seminar I knew that I was in for an eye opening learning experience. There were so many initiatives I had never even thought of before. To name a few: the packaging on the products I buy, how my water is sourced, and how big of an impact traveling has on the environment.

As I headed on the plane I told myself to keep an open mind and embrace the learning experience I was about to embark on. I hope you follow along on my blog to see how much I have learned over the past 10 days!
